Scarboro Toyota, along with Lotterywest, are proud to sponsor the Shooting Stars, an initiative of Netball WA and Glass Jar Australia, which uses netball as a channel to encourage greater engagement and attendance at schools of young Aboriginal girls living in WA's remote communities and regional towns.
We have provided 2 Hiace community buses, meaning more girls will be able to participate in the Shooting Stars school attendance rewards camps, without the difficulty of finding transportation.
Scarboro Toyota has provided $25,000 worth of value to the buses, which covers signage, tinting and other accessories.

Have a go day
Have A Go Day is organised by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA in November at Burswood Park. It is a one day event which provides many over the age of 50 with the opportunity to come together in one place to try different activities and gather information specific to their age group. Activities that were available for seniors to try involved tai chi and various sorts of dancing, along with many different other activities that gave seniors the opportunity to have fun and "have a go". Scarboro Toyota lent the team 2 HILUX utes, which helped them with the set up and then became display vehicles.
School Tree Planting Day
Scarboro Toyota teamed up with the staff and pupils of West Leederville Primary School on 10th August 2018 and Churchlands Senior High School on 16th August to dig in and celebrate the 23rd year of Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day.
Marking this special occasion, the members of West Leederville Primary School and Churchlands Senior High School along with the Scarboro Toyota team got their hands dirty with planting activities at the school.
Both events witnessed participation of 73 pupils and their teachers and parents. The event started with distribution of native plants, t-shirts, gloves, potting mix and gardening tools. Once everyone was ready, a planting demonstration was conducted by the leader of their respective school's gardening/science clubs, followed by which students got a chance to get their hands dirty.
The main planting area was within their school premises.Students from West Leederville Primary School planted around their playground, along a school fence on Lesser Street so that the plants can act as a sound barrier for their neighbours. 45 pupils between year 1 and year 4 planted 45 plants with the assistance of some very helpful parents and the team from Scarboro Toyota.
28 Year 7 pupils from Churchlands Senior High School's Science Club participated in this activity and planted 18 plants around their school premises especially their games area. The event played a very important role to ensure the next generation develops a strong connection to nature.
After the planting, participants were seen bringing their friends around during their recess time and showing off the plant they planted and few even gave names to theirs. The smile on the faces made our day and the event special.
